Outdoor Footstool Finish

Part 4 of 4

© Sage Garden Style

Automotive paint was used for the outdoor footstool finish in a satin black. The close up shows the rough welds at the corners from all of the filler and grinding. A more accomplished welder would have much smoother results but practice makes perfect-and I'm not there yet! All in all though, I was very pleased with the overall results. Having control of the design process from start to finish allows the freedom to go in so many directions. Metal work is something I had wanted to do for a very long time and I enjoyed it immensely. Just make sure to wear the gloves and cover up-those burns are no fun.

For the next prototype I will try a green color and finish out with the small metal balls inserted into each groove to complete my "peapod" theme. For now I just call it Wavy Footstool!
