Antique Furniture Garden -Using Antique Furniture in the Garden -Green Living
Antique Furniture Garden -
I have always been a fan of using Antique Furniture in the Garden. There is perhaps no greater natural relationship than that of plants and flowers that recycle through the four seasons in nature and garden furniture that compliments it. Garden furniture that has been recycled and refurbished over decades to accommodate the owner's vision and creativity as a garden grows and changes over time is the ultimate green solution to sustainable green living.
Just as people change, in terms of where they are in life, so does a garden and the furnishings in it. There is no such thing as a "finished garden" just as there is no such thing as a completely redecorated room. As lifestyles change, and interests develop over time, so does the desire and need for our environment to reflect that change. Using antique or vintage garden furniture is the perfect opportunity to preserve artisan pieces while keeping these beautiful pieces out of the landfills.
I often find myself thinking about the previous owners who have loved the antique and vintage pieces I have rescued and saved from the landfills over the years. It gives me great satisfaction to think that when my own use of these objects has run their course, someone new will find a way to incorporate them into their own garden creation and they will continue to bring delight for many more years to come.
So, when you are ready to add the furnishings to your beautiful garden, whether it is a terrace balcony or a landscaped marvel with a series of outdoor rooms, think of using vintage, or antique garden furniture. I think you will find the combination is irresistible, even if you are only a casual "tree-hugger".
